11 years ago, I brought home my first Malinois, Valentine, while living in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles. My intention was to find a dog that could protect my home, but little did I know that this breed would teach me more about myself than I could imagine. Since 1997, I have dedicated myself to training and raising Malinois. As a supervisor and trainer for my department’s K-9 unit, I took pride in raising all of my dual-purpose street dogs from puppies and starting them in the unit. Although I have retired from the police department, my passion for working dogs remains.
